Basic Coverage consists of Third Party Liability (Wettelijke Aansprakelijkheid).You can select the following types of cover:
- Fire
- Theft
- Fire and Theft
- All Risk (with limitations)
- All Risk+
Additional Coverage
In order to create an insurance policy that is tailored to fit your situation you can select several types of additional cover. You might include your boat trailer or trolley. Or you could choose for legal aid or accident insurance.Sailing area covered
Boat Insurance provides cover over an extended area. You are insured year round anywhere in Europe, on all rivers and lakes, including 15 nautical miles from the shores of all European countries. If you only wish to be covered inside the Netherlands, including 5 nautical miles from shore, you will receive a discount of 10% on your premiums.It is possible to extend the standard sailing area at no additional premium by selecting the Sea-sailing option, provided your vessel is seaworthy. In this case you will be insured within the area that is circumscribed by 63 ° N. lat., 25 ° E. long., 15 ° W. long. and 45 ° N. lat. This extended coverage applies from April 1 to November 1.
Would you like the area where you can sail with insurance protection to be even larger you can select the option Sea-sailing+. Coverage will then apply to the area circumscribed by 63 ° N. lat, 30 ° E. long., 15 ° W. long. and 35 ° N. lat. This extended cover also applies from April 1 to November 1.
The required Italy-certificates and International Insurance certificates are provided free of charge upon request.
Berth
The boat must have a fixed berth in the Netherlands. Boats with cabins that have a permanent berth outside of the Netherlands can be insured. You can ask us for terms and conditions.Obligatory Preventative Measures
Of course every boat lover will do everything possible to prevent damage. The Europeesche additionally requires certain conditions are met in order to qualify for Boat insurance. The following preventative measures are in fact obligatory:Boat and/or auxiliary boat
You must secure your boat and/or auxiliary boat with an approved cable and lock. This requirement does not apply if your boat is kept at a guarded marina, either afloat or on land, or if the boat has a cabin that can be locked up. Auxiliary boats that are with, on top of, or alongside the main boat must be secured with an approved cable and lock.
Excluded from coverage are the results of theft of a boat, auxiliary boat, or parts of either, if they are kept or left outside of a guarded area, or on a public road, whether or not in water. This restriction also applies if the boat has been left within a radius of 15 meters alongside a public road. Propulsion
Outboard engines must always be secured with an approved lock. If an outboard engine has been mounted onto the hull with bolts, it must always be secured against heft with appropriate bolt-locks. The same applies to the steering equipment.
Boat on a boat trailer or boat trailer without boat
If a boat trailer, with or without a boat on top, is left unattended, theft or attempted theft of trailer and boat will only be insured if if the trailer has been adequately secured by an approved wheel clamp and an approved trailer hitch lock.
If a boat is left unattended on its trailer during a short stop, the trailer must be protected against theft by way of an approved trailer hitch lock, which produces an inseparable connection to the pulling vehicle.

- Boat and auxiliary boat must be moored with adequate mooring lines
- A cabin boat must carry onboard, in a visible location, a working fire extinguisher of at least 2 kilos
- Any boat with 2 or more onboard engines of at least 250 hp. each must have an automatic fire extinguishing system installed in the engine compartment
- Any boat with one or more built in fuel engines must have installed a working spark proof ventilation exhaust in the engine compartment
- There must be regular, timely and effective maintenance of insured objects
- Insured objects must be adequately protected against frost
- During times when there is no direct supervision available, loose items must be removed or stowed below in a secured area
- Outside of the sailing season nautical and audiovisual equipment must be removed, unless its installation renders this impracticable
- Outside of the sailing season all sails must be stowed safe and dry in a secured area
