Passenger Damage & Injury Insurance

Accident Insurance for the Occupants of a Vehicle
This type of policy will pay out on the demonstrable damage & injury of driver and passengers, as the result of an accident, up to the maximum insured amount for all of the occupants (or persons riding on a motorcycle) together. This could cover damage to your possessions (clothes, sunglasses, e.g.), but also lost income, domestic help, travel expenses, medical costs, distress money or damages and funeral expenses.  However, damage to the vehicle itself is not covered, as this requires a separate type of policy. The difference with an accident to passengers or occupants type insurance policy is that a passenger damage & injury insurance policy covers the actual damages incurred. That means that this policy does not just pay out a fixed sum in the event of death or permanent disability, as is the case with the passenger/occupant accident policy. In neither type of insurance does it matter who was at fault in causing the accident for purposes of paying out under the policy.
